SINGAPORE
23rd November 2006
Singapore is a very beautiful island. Spotlessly clean, great shopping, fabulous cuisine, and dirt cheap (the food that is)! The contrast to Indonesia is worlds apart. We stayed a few days more than we intended as we were getting our air con replaced which broke down in Darwin. We then risked life and limb once again doing a slalom through the shipping lane to arrive at another marina to have some more electronics fitted to the radar. So we have lost another few days. Very frustrating but I’m starting to realize that’s what boating is all about. I have to say that our boat is going extremely well, its all the other additional bits and pieces that are giving us grief.
Tomorrow morning we will be going through the dreaded Malacca Straits. I’m not too concerned about it, I’m more worried about going through the Red Sea, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. We still have vacancies on board for anybody who would like to do that leg with us, but do get your booking in as we are filling up fast!!! NOT
